Seed Cafe

Since I had no idea where to have my dinner last night, I went with my sister's suggestion. She brought me to Seed Cafe in Mid Valley. I bet most of you never heard of Seed Cafe. The first thing people have in mind when it comes to Seed is fashion boutique. Right? To be perfectly frank, it was my first time there too. It was connected to the Seed clothing store. I was impressed with the design and decoration of the restaurant; trendy and modern feel with a charming and inviting look. It's simple and tempting, just like their food. They serve a mix of Asian and Western food which is perfect for young people who seek a comfortable cafe with ambient to eat and relax.

We were escorted to our table by a polite yet friendly waiter. The waiter then starts recommending some of their signature dishes to us. I personally think that their menu is unique as it looks more like a magazine than a menu to me.

The front view of the menu

Don't you think it resembles a magazine?

I opt for their tuna pasta as i was craving for pasta. It is stirred fried with tuna and Naepolitan sauce. It wasn't as good as it seems though. As for my drink,i ordered iced blended mocha and it did not disappoint me!

                                                                                       Tuna pasta, RM 15.90

                                                      Ice blended mocha, RM 11.90

While my family members ordered Caesar Salad, Cajun Chicken Chop, Nasi Lemak, Seed Imperial Rice, Tiramisu cake and Iced Blended Chocolate.

The Caesar salad came with homemade croutons, beef bacon, Parmesan cheese and chicken tossed in classic Caesar dressing. The salad is in a quite big portion so you can share it with your friends and family.

Caesar salad, RM14.90

I highly recommend their Cajun chicken chop. It is perfectly grilled with special Cajun spices which permeates the spices and it's juicy tender poultry meat. You also get a side serving of potato wedges and their house salad.

                                                             Cajun chicken chop,RM 15.90

I also suggest their Nasi Lemak as it tastes as good as it looks. I'm sure it will not disappoint you. It comes with chicken rendang simmered in aromatic spices, red hot 'sambal', anchovies, spicy curried vegetables and hard boiled egg. I would say it's worth the price.

                                                         Nasi lemak, RM 14.90

Besides, Seed Imperial Rice is a Thai green curry fried rice served with fried chicken and cabbage salad, and comes with their homemade Thai sauce. I've never heard of this dish before but I would say it simply taste delicious.

Seed imperial rice, RM 18.90

Seed cafe is famous for their durian cheese cake. Unfortunately, the durian mousse cake was sold out, therefore, we ordered a slice of Tiramisu cake. Although we were a little disappointed, but their Tiramisu cake did not fail to impress us. It tasted like heaven! It's soft and the flavour is perfect. The best part is, it's only RM 9.90!

Tiramisu, RM 9.90

As for their iced blended chocolate,it's rich in chocolate flavour and I totally love it! I would say that I prefer their iced blended chocolate than their iced blended mocha.

                                                      Iced blended chocolate, RM 11.90

Overall, the meal was satisfying and their service was excellent. As you can see,the ambience is beautiful. It may seem expensive, but I think it's worth the money with the satisfying and mouthwatering foods. It's perfect for young people who wants a relaxing sit-down meal and will definitely satisfy your tastebuds!

Yummy Taiwan

Food Menu

The Store

                                                       Braised Drumstick Rice

Yummy Taiwan was a typical restaurant among the shop area and the food store was located at Kota Kemuning and it has been open for roughly over a year and has generated a lot of excitement about how it will improved the area by providing a more unique delicious food at such a competitive location that has lots of store selling amazing food with different kind of food. Basically, the restaurant offer a variety of food, beverage and many more for the customer to crave. However, majority of meal price at $7.90 or a little bit more and the beverage price will cost more than $4.00 and was very reasonable and affordable as well. Initially, i was captivated by the illustrate of  Braised Drumstick Rice and decided to order it as my meal for the dinner which was label as B12 in the food menu and although the food wasn't very scrumptious but those food was acceptable and good enough to satisfy majority of customer. In fact, the Braised Drumstick Rice consists of egg, vegetable, rice, drumstick that was ample to filled up most of the people tummy and the value of the meal absolutely worth every penny and it can't go wrong because yummy taiwan provide substantial of meal that was very compelling and you will not be disappoints by their various type of food which from inexpensive to expensive and definitely have something for everyone. The customer service was perfectly fine and most of the time they are very gracious towards the customer and the most exciting part of their service was the food was incredibly fast and efficiency which they took just approximately 10 minutes to delivered the food for the customer and they have done a terrific job at ensuring the customer doesn't need to wait extremely tedious to enjoy their meal. The environment was nothing particularly special or fascinating because as long as the food taste delicious it will be a place that people will always come back and crave for more. Generally, the overall experience of the Yummy Taiwan was great and was very comfortable for anyone who wish to relax at the store or have supper during at night.

Sakae Sushi --- We Serve Only What We Eat

Do you love japanese food? Do you love delicious Japanese cuisine? Do you love to enjoy the Japanese food in a conducive ambience? Do you want to experience all of it together? If the answer is yes, then Sakae Sushi will is the restaurant which can fulfill all your wish!
Last Thursday, I had a visit to Sakae Sushi which located in Sunway Pyramid. Sakae Sushi, ” which means growth or prosperity in Japanese, had distributed over 70 outlets in Malaysia, and also the symbolize green frog had become more familiar in many asia countries.

Sakae Sushi with it’s slogan (We Serve Only What We Eat)

Before dinner, we have a picture with the mascot of Sakae Sushi, which is a frog that means grow by leaps and bounds. Also, the Chinese character “ means growth and prosperity.
As usual, there is a queue waiting in front of the restaurant.

Apart from that , the light in the restaurant is quite dim ,built up a comfortable ambience ,and it is suitable for gathering with friend and also family.

As when we entered the restaurant , the waiters greet us いらっしゃいませ (irasshaimase),which means welcome the customers in Japanese, with a sweet smile. So, I feel the service is excellent.

In Sakae Sushi, the food order is very systematic as they are using Ipad system to take customer’s order. IPads are displayed on every table, we can take order by touching the screen that shows all the food and beverage  and send our order is directly sent to the kitchen.  Also, we can still enlarge the pictures of the picture of the food and beverage. From my point of view, this system was great as the food can be serve effectively and fresh, for cusromers, they can plan their budget as well.

You don’t need to call the waiter  to refill your green tea but they already supply hot water at your table as well.

Not only taking order, the price of food from the sushi belt in Sakae Sushi also function systematically.
The price are depend on the colour of plate.
Prices of plates from train are as below :
-Green plate : RM 1.99
-Pink plate : RM 3.99
-Red plate : RM 5.99
-Blue plate : RM 7.99
We have ordered quite a number of food that night.

Hot Green Tea --- RM 2.00
Green tea or known as "Genmai Tea" served in the convenient pack. The green tea is good but sometimes it get too strong because the pack is left with the cup for a while.

Cold Green Tea --- RM 2.00

Curry Ka Jyu --- RM 12.90

Cha Soba --- RM 10.90

Kiniko Cha Soba --- RM 15.90

Chawanmushi --- RM 3.90

Inari Sush ---- RM 1.99
It is a kind of sushi which the rice cover with abura-age (deep fried tofu).

Sakae Blossom ---- RM 9.99

Touted as an intricately-designed roll of tempting grilled salmon, shrimp roe and mayo, it is a must try in Sakae Sushi.

Sakae Sushi Muachi --- RM 5.99
However, the food which is tend to be more traditional Japanese style can be adapted to the taste that close to Malaysian’s diet as not all the Malaysian can used to the style.

In a nutshell, Sakae Sushi really did what they say “We Only Serve What We Eat” as we can taste high quality food and experience nice ambience with such affordable price.

Chick'Stop Roasted House

Most people would agree that the most important factor to consider before opening a shop/restaurant would be the venue. To some, convenience is as important as the quality of food when it comes to picking a restaurant. The price of the food should also be reasonable and not overpriced. Chick'Stop, the restaurant which i went on the 28th of February 2013, satisfies all the needs above as it is:

  • Strategically located
  • Reasonably priced
  • Good quality food
  • Convenient to reach (especially for students studying in Sunway Collage or in Inti Subang Campus)

On the 28th of February 2013, Thursday, I went to Chick'Stop for lunch. I was greeted and seated by the friendly workers there. The workers were efficient in taking my order and even suggested a few dishes since I was quite new there. The manager was kind and friendly too. He would talk to me and made sure I was enjoying my meal. I would give the customer service a rating of 9/10

Promotions/Deals offered in Chick'Stop

(Redemption Card)

(Check-in Discounts)

Chick'Stop offers many kinds of deals, discounts and promotions to attract customers.

  • 'Redemption Card' - The 'Redemption Card' allows the customer to redeem a free dish for every 4 stamps collected. A stamp is given with every purchase of RM15 in a single receipt.
  • 'Check-in discount' - For every check-in through foursquare (a location-based social networking website), the customer is granted a 5% discount on any spaghetti item. For the customer with the most Check-ins collected, he/she is granted a 20% discount on food and beverages.
With the rapid improvement of technology, almost everyone has a smartphone. Chick'Stop is able to keep up with this improvement of technology and use the 'Check-in discount' method to promote itself. It is a great and effective promotional technique.

The Menu

The menu used in Chick'Stop is a simple one-page menu which makes the process of deciding which food to pick much easier. There are pictures to show the customers what the food would look like. The food is listed in an organized manner and it doesn't cause confusion. There is also a detailed explanation (the ingredients used) under the name of the food that I find extremely helpful to vegetarians and to those with allergies towards certain kinds of food.

(Set Meal)

I ordered a set meal (1/4 chicken with 2 side dishes) which cost RM9.90 and paid and additional RM1.00 for a bowl of soup and a refreshing beverage. The portion of food was surprisingly large given the low price charged. The food was served within 10 minutes. The quality of the food was great. The Mac' n Cheese and butter rice was soft, the chicken meat was tender and the asparagus soup wasn't seasoned too heavily. I would give the food a rating of 7/10.

 The Interior of Chick'Stop

The ambience in Chick'Stop is calm and relaxing. Many students were chatting away and relaxing while eating. The tables are not too close to each other, allowing customers and workers to walk around without trouble. The interior design is simple and has a calming effect. The hanging lights matches well with the design. It is not hot inside as there are air conditioners and fans. Air is well ventilated. Smooth Jazz and songs from the 90's are played, making it a relaxing place to dine in or to hang out with friends/colleague. Some students consider Chick'Stop as their second home. I would give the ambience a rating of 8/10

However, it is a little dim inside. Students aren't able to read without hurting their eyes. Some tables wobble too much. The password for the wifi isn't located anywhere inside the restaurant. Here are some suggestions to make it a better place:
  • Add a reading corner (for students who enjoys reading while eating)
  • Check the conditions of chairs and tables regularly
  • Add a glass door in the doorway (to prevent the cool air from escaping)
  • Attach the password for the wifi on tables or walls

Overall, it was an amazing meal and an amazing experience. I would definitely come back again. I highly recommend this restaurant if you would like to relax from work or class and enjoy a nice, filling meal.

When Chilly Meets Pan Mee @ Face to Face Noodles House

Introducing Face to Face Noodles House, an irresisitable traditional recipe of Pan Mee which makes your taste buds feel even hotter!

Pan Mee is a prominent household Malaysian Chinese cuisine, handmade from kneaded flour. Face to Face Noodles House is one of the specializing in local fare, combining simple yet comfortable atmosphere with excellent fusion of their Sarawak's homemade noodles ' Kolok Mee ' and Pan Mee.
The founder believes face to face contact is the most personal sincere and direct communication manner, that is how the restaurant had its name. The restaurant is divided into indoors air-conditioned section and the outdoors alfresco section.

There are only tables with edges to meet the purspose of its name.

Posters on wall introducing their specialities.

Let's see what they got us here.

Their signature Pan Mee is a must ordered item. It comes with sunny side up egg, anchovies and minced pork along with a small bowl of hot soup. You can even opt for thick, thin or pinch noodles to fulfill your expectations towards the dish. According to them, you are supposed to break the egg yolk amd mix with the noodles together with dried crispy chilly before eating. What a perfect combination!

Pan Mee RM6.30.

What's Pan Mee without homemade chilly?

Besides, a friendly waitress recommended their Traditional Sarawak Noodles as known as 'Kolok Mee'. Since the great grandfather of the founder was previously the main supplier for 'Kolok Mee' in Sarawak, it is highly recommmended as it is the most authentic noodles in Sarawak. The noodles come with slices of bbq pork, minced pork and bouncy pork balls. The noodles resemble wantan noodles (another chinese traditional noodle served with slices of bbq pork) slightly but with more spring.

Traditional Sarawak Noodles RM6.30.

I chose their ice blended mango yogurt drink to complete my meal. One good thing to mention about the drink is they chose the famous brand Bliss by Nestle as their base. It is worth it to have such a quality drink. However, I find it too sweet for me, otherwise, it is a fantastic drink to have under the hot weather.

Ice blended mango yogurt drink RM6.50.

Articles about the restaurant displayed in outdoor's section.

Face to Face Noodles House has been recognized by several newspapers. ' The noodles here are handmade daily and does not contain any preservatives and alkaline.' said the owner. You can see its success by witnessing more and more branches to be opened throughout the years. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our lunch. Their service and cleanliness are well maintained. Food arrived in less than 10minutes. Face to Face Noodles House is certainly a great place to visit once in a while. To readers who did not try it yet, why not give it a try?
